uk was the only locale skipped when the 64 file sharing keys landed, so the
translation check failed on it at 458 of 522 keys. Translate the missing keys
and keep them in the English key order.
Existing entries are untouched. Two lines outside the new keys change
indentation only: anonymize.info and privilege.authorizePending were indented
with eight spaces and are now on the file's four.
The Files rows overflowed the fixed-width panel instead of truncating.
Radix wraps ScrollArea.Viewport children in a div carrying an inline
`min-width:100%; display:table`, and a table box is shrink-to-fit, so it
grew to the widest row's intrinsic width and never gave `truncate` a
finite bound. Since overflowX is hidden when only the vertical scrollbar
is enabled, the result was clipped content rather than a scrollbar. A
scoped `.nb-scroll-clamp` rule overrides that display (the inline style
needs `!important`), leaving other ScrollAreas untouched.
Each transfer row is now three lines -- file name, to/from peer, then
time and size -- with the file name and the peer label both truncating
and revealing the full text on hover via TruncatedText. The status label
keeps its own right-hand column, vertically centred against the block,
so a refusal or failure stays scannable.
The Files page could not start a transfer at all: the send buttons lived
only on the peer detail panel, and an empty history replaced the whole
page, hiding the header. The header now always renders and carries one
primary Send button opening a two-step picker -- payload first, then the
peer list with search. One entry point means the peer list is built in
one place instead of two, and one button leaves the search field room to
survive the longer translations.
Clipboard sends showed nothing before leaving the machine. Both the
picker and the peer panel now preview the text first, and both send the
previewed string rather than re-reading the clipboard, which could have
changed between the preview and the confirmation. The picker disables
its clipboard entry when the clipboard is empty, so the failure surfaces
before the recipient is chosen. PeerSendActions is keyed on the peer so
a staged confirmation cannot carry over to a different recipient.
Deleting a history entry now asks first, reusing the app-wide useConfirm
hook. The wording states that received files stay on disk, matching what
DeleteTransfer does -- it drops the history record and cancels a live
transfer, and never touches delivered files. The dropdown is
modal={false} because DropdownMenuItem calls preventDefault, which keeps
a modal menu's focus trap alive against the dialog.
Files move directly between peers over the overlay, with no server in the
path. The receiver listens on the WireGuard address only, so the port is
unreachable from outside the tunnel, and every offer is matched to a known
peer before anything is read.
Consent is the default: an offer carries metadata alone, and no payload
moves until the receiver accepts. Policy is per profile and device-local —
off, ask, or auto-accept, with per-sender exceptions on top.
Policy and history live in the profile's preferences, so removing a profile
takes its file drop state with it. Transfers interrupted by a restart are
settled on load; nothing survives to finish them, and left alone they would
sit in the log as permanently pending.
The Android bindings pull payload bytes through a chunk-returning stream:
gomobile copies a []byte argument into a fresh Java array and never copies
it back, so a fill-my-buffer method would hand back the right length with
no data.
English (en) is the source of truth for UI translation keys; the other
nine locales rely on runtime English fallback for any missing key, so a
gap never surfaces in CI. Add a dependency-free Node check that fails
when any locale declared in _index.json does not carry the exact same
key set as en (missing or orphaned keys), wired into a dedicated
UI Translations workflow that runs on locale changes.
Also close the one existing gap the check found: ja was missing
daemon.outdated.download ("Download Latest").

## Describe your changes
Adds a Japanese (ja) locale for the desktop UI, following the procedure
in `client/ui/i18n/TRANSLATING.md`.
- New `client/ui/i18n/locales/ja/common.json` — all 441 keys from the
`en` source bundle, `message` only, same key order.
- Registered in `client/ui/i18n/locales/_index.json`: `{"code": "ja",
"displayName": "日本語", "englishName": "Japanese"}`.
Translation notes:
- Placeholders (`{version}`, `{count}`, `{name}`, `{remaining}`, ...),
`\n`, trailing `…`/`...`, the leading space in
`notify.update.enforcedSuffix`, and the `<docs>…</docs>` inline-link
tags are all preserved verbatim.
- Brands kept as-is: NetBird, WireGuard® (® preserved), Rosenpass,
GitHub, NetBird Cloud. Acronyms kept: SSO, DNS, IP/IPv6, ACL, SSH, JWT,
TTL, SFTP, MTU, PSK, LAN, P2P, ICE, IdP.
- Formal register (です・ます); short labels for buttons/tray; quoted UI
labels use Japanese brackets 「」.
No code changes are required: the React frontend auto-loads every
`locales/*/common.json` via `import.meta.glob`, the tray/Go side embeds
the tree via `//go:embed all:i18n/locales`, and the language picker
lists whatever `_index.json` declares.
### Verification
- `go test ./client/ui/i18n/` passes.
- JSON valid; key set and order identical to `en`; no `description`
fields; no empty messages; placeholder/`\n` counts match `en`.
- Built the Windows UI and confirmed the General, Network, Security, and
Troubleshooting settings tabs plus the main window render correctly in
Japanese (language picker shows "日本語 (Japanese)"), with no text
truncation, overflow, or leaked placeholders.

- **Wails v3 application** (`client/ui`) with a React + TypeScript + Tailwind frontend replacing the Fyne UI: main connection view, exit-node switcher, networks/peers browser with detail panels, profile management, settings (general, network, SSH, security, troubleshooting, appearance), debug-bundle creation, and a first-run welcome flow.
- **Internationalization**: go-i18n bundle with 9 locales (en, de, es, fr, hu, it, pt, ru, zh-CN) shared between the tray and the frontend.
- **New system tray** implementation with per-platform theme-aware icons, including a native XEmbed host for Linux (`xembed_tray_linux.c`) and a Linux theme watcher.
- **Session handling**: auth session watcher (`client/internal/auth/sessionwatch`), pending login flow, session-expiration dialog and tray notifications, and `netbird login` improvements.
- **Daemon API extensions** (`daemon.proto`): status stream subscription, event stream, networks/exit-node selection endpoints, and richer full status — with probe throttling on the daemon side to protect against UI-driven request storms.
- **UI preferences store** persisted per profile, autostart management via the daemon (single source of truth in HKCU on Windows).
- **Build system**: Taskfile-based builds per platform (macOS, Linux, Windows), Docker cross-compilation images, MSIX/NSIS/nfpm/AppImage packaging, and a new `frontend-ui` CI workflow.
