Port IPv6 overlay support (#5631) into the Wails UI:
- Add DisableIPv6 config toggle to Settings (NetworkTab + services)
- Filter ::/0 alongside 0.0.0.0/0 as an exit-node route
- Suppress duplicate v6 default-route notifications in tray
The tray now switches to a dedicated lock icon when the daemon reports
NeedsLogin, SessionExpired or LoginFailed — the latter mirrors the CLI,
which groups these three statuses together as "needs authentication"
and prints the same "Run netbird up" prompt. The macOS template variant
reuses the existing error-macos PNG because the project's macOS tray
PNGs use a 2-color (black + transparent) convention that rsvg-convert
of the badge-style SVG sources can't reproduce. The earlier badge-style
SVG sketches in assets/svg/ are removed (they were marked as reference
only and never matched the shipping PNG design).
The status stream emits a synthetic StatusDaemonUnavailable when the
gRPC client or stream cannot be established, fired once per outage and
cleared on the next real snapshot. The tray maps it to a "Not running"
status label, switches the icon to the error variant, hides
Connect/Disconnect (neither would work without the daemon), and
disables Settings, Networks and Create Debug Bundle so the user is not
routed to pages that would just fail to load.
Left-click on the tray icon now opens the menu on every platform — the
window is reached through a new "Open NetBird" entry. Only the action
that matches the current daemon state is shown: Connect when
disconnected, Disconnect when connected. The main window starts hidden
and is only surfaced via the tray, single-instance launch, or daemon
events.
Follow-up to the rename commit: the previous commit moved the files but
the post-mv string substitutions (Go imports, frontend bindings, CI
config paths) were not re-staged so they slipped through. This commit
applies those edits and removes the fyne dependencies from go.mod/go.sum
now that the legacy fyne UI is gone.
Removes the legacy fyne-based client/ui implementation and renames the
Wails replacement (client/ui-wails) to take its place at client/ui. Go
imports, frontend bindings, CI workflows, goreleaser configs and the
windows .syso icon path are updated to follow the rename.
* client/ui: fix Exit Node submenu separator accumulation on Windows
On Windows the tray uses a background poller (every 10s) instead of
TrayOpenedCh to keep the Exit Node menu fresh. Each poll that has a
selected exit node called s.mExitNode.AddSeparator() before the
"Deselect All" item. Because AddSeparator() returns no handle the
separator was never removed in the cleanup pass of
recreateExitNodeMenu(), while every other item (exit node checkboxes
and the "Deselect All" entry) was properly tracked and removed.
After the client has been running for a while with an exit node
selected this leaves hundreds of separator lines stacked in the
submenu, filling the screen height with blank entries (#4702).
On Linux/FreeBSD this is masked because the parent mExitNode item
itself is removed and recreated each cycle, wiping all children
including orphaned separators.
Fix: replace the untracked AddSeparator() call with a regular disabled
sub-menu item that is stored in mExitNodeSeparator and removed at the
start of each recreateExitNodeMenu() call alongside mExitNodeDeselectAll.
Fixes#4702
* client/ui: extract addExitNodeDeselectAll to reduce cognitive complexity
Move the separator + deselect-all creation and its goroutine listener
out of recreateExitNodeMenu into a dedicated helper, bringing the
function's cognitive complexity back under the SonarCloud threshold.
Auto-update logic moved out of the UI into a dedicated updatemanager.Manager service that runs in the connection layer. The
UI no longer polls or checks for updates independently.
The update manager supports three modes driven by the management server's auto-update policy:
No policy set by mgm: checks GitHub for the latest version and notifies the user (previous behavior, now centralized)
mgm enforces update: the "About" menu triggers installation directly instead of just downloading the file — user still initiates the action
mgm forces update: installation proceeds automatically without user interaction
updateManager lifecycle is now owned by daemon, giving the daemon server direct control via a new TriggerUpdate RPC
Introduces EngineServices struct to group external service dependencies passed to NewEngine, reducing its argument count from 11 to 4
* [client] Fix exit node menu not refreshing on Windows
TrayOpenedCh is not implemented in the systray library on Windows,
so exit nodes were never refreshed after the initial connect. Combined
with the management sync not having populated routes yet when the
Connected status fires, this caused the exit node menu to remain empty
permanently after disconnect/reconnect cycles.
Add a background poller on Windows that refreshes exit nodes while
connected, with fast initial polling to catch routes from management
sync followed by a steady 10s interval. On macOS/Linux, TrayOpenedCh
continues to handle refreshes on each tray open.
Also fix a data race on connectClient assignment in the server's connect()
method and add nil checks in CleanState/DeleteState to prevent panics
when connectClient is nil.
* Remove unused exitNodeIDs
* Remove unused exitNodeState struct
The UI can get stuck showing "Connecting" status even after the daemon successfully connects and reports "Connected" status. This occurs because the condition to update the UI to "Connected" state checks the wrong flag.
The Fyne framework does not support TTC font files.
Use the default system font (Segoe UI) instead, so Windows can
automatically fall back to a Japanese font when needed.
Adds a new NotifyOSLifecycle RPC and server handler to centralize OS sleep/wake handling, introduces Server.sleepTriggeredDown for coordination, updates client UI to call the new RPC, and adjusts the internal sleep event enum zero-value semantics.
A macOS-specific sleep detection mechanism using IOKit and CoreFoundation via cgo is introduced, with a fallback implementation for unsupported platforms. A public Service wrapper provides an event-driven API translating system sleep/wake events into gRPC calls. The UI client integrates sleep detection to manage connectivity state based on system sleep status.
